Lion Sands Lodges Located in arguably the prettiest corner of the Greater Kruger ecosystem, Lion Sands’s Lodges sit perfectly in the Sabi Sand South concession of the Kruger. Situated on the banks of the Sand River in the far south, at the Ivory Lodge, chic luxurious style blends effortlessly into the mature vegetation, with public areas running down to a pool. The six guest rooms at Ivory Lodge are large, well-furnished and have their own heated pools. Guests can also choose to spend the night at one of Lion Sand’s luxury treehouses on platforms in the bush. Activities focus on vehicle and walking safaris, with game-viewing in this Sabi Sand South area being very reliable year round. The lodge has traversing rights over around 70 square kilometres, including good access to both the Sabi and Sand rivers. The reserve, which is unfenced to the east and west, forms part of the greater Kruger protected area meaning there are no barriers to game movement between here and the distant border with Mozambique. This contiguous landscape is important for the greater trans-frontier protected corridor project. There are a good mix of granite kopjes, riverine areas and open grassy plains for game-viewing.
