Luxury Canvas Mobile Safaris A mobile safari in Africa as an itinerary in itself, or as a section of an itinerary, can be an incredible experience for clients wishing to deeply connect with the bush. The style of delivery varies across Africa, but typically a small number of large canvas tents with surprisingly plush furnishings are erected and dismantled by a team of staff, along a wilderness route of interest. The simplicity of the camps depends often on the remoteness, but there is always a high quality chef on board preparing often silver service fine dining in the most impossible of locations. Africa seems to be able to deliver this style of experience better than anywhere else, and the closeness to the staff, as well as the private nature of the camps in the bush, affords the guests an unrivalled remote hospitality experience. Often combined with walking safaris and canoe safaris, such as in the Selinda Concession of Botswana, mobile safaris under canvas are for those wishing to experience an older style of safari. The ease of booking exclusive departures for a small group of clients makes this a great option for those wishing to be completely private in Africa. The intensity of this style of safari is often heightened by the closeness of the nocturnal action in the bush around camp. These experiences require huge amounts of logistics and therefore, despite not being fixed lodge in nature, are considered more high-end in many cases. Safari camping is a different style of experience to a luxury mobile safari and is offered more as part of our expeditions. Sleep-outs in the bush are again different and can be arranged out of many of the fixed lodges, consisting of raised platforms in the bush, luxury treehouses or one-night fly-camping experiences such as in the Selous.
