Kaingo Camp

Kaingo is a specialist Zambian safari camp situated in the northern sector of the South Luangwa. The walking here is fabulous, as are the various wildlife hides the Shenton family have erected in action hotspots. The hippo hide allows guests to get very close to the jostling of a pod on stretch of river and the carmine bee-eater hide set in front of a colony allows some miraculous behavioural observation and photography of the stunning birds.

Shenton safaris operates a bushcamp on the Mwamba River as well as Kaingo, and the whole operation is geared towards capturing superb photography in the South Luangwa. The small six room Kaingo is pleasant and down-to-earth, offering the guest morning and afternoon safari drives and walks, night drives, and also the additional third activity of hide observation during the heat of midday. Guests can even request to overnight on the elephant hide platform deep in the bush, giving some lovely intimate night time encounters with the large herbivores.
