Northern Botswana Linyanti

Northern Botswana Linyanti is the largest continuous safari landscape in Africa. Its beauty lies in its remoteness combined with the space and lack of visitors, yet contains some of the best dry game-viewing in Africa. Elephant, buffalo, lion and wild dog are especially prolific along the northern waterways. Linyanti’s three wonderful private concessions consist of East Linyanti, Selinda and Kwando, all having their slight unique differences.

East Linyanti is a similarly beautiful landscape to Chobe but has the major advantage of no crowds. The game is concentrated along the banks of the river and the riparian forests and views over to the Namibian Caprivi Strip are extremely lovely.

The Selinda Concession has arguably the most spectacular diversity of environments in the centre of this Linyanti wilderness. The Okavango Delta and Linyanti wetland areas are connected here by the Selinda Spillway, along which the magical mobile Selinda canoe trail safari is operated on its banks.

Selinda and Zarafa Camps offer extensive walking, canoeing and game drives where cheetah, wild dog, leopard and lion all roam in good numbers. The Kwando Concession to the west is vast and whilst containing enormous herds of elephant, it is a remarkable place to watch wild dog during their denning season. The night safaris are very productive and Kwando is for the serous safari-goer who wants to spend as much time on activities in the bush as possible.
